This can be the case if you do not know where to look. When first reading about the mod I was told not to expect a helpful or friendly community. This can lead to a very enjoyable experience. You can expect at peak times over a weekend for multiple large factions to be at constant war. Persistent World brings mount and blade into an open world, in a land where (player only) factions are in constant war over the castles. I love the multiplayer on mount and blade, however aside from improving my combat skills my time was felt as if it was almost wasted without a sense of progression.
Around a month ago now version 4.5 was released of this truly brilliant mod.
